Origins and Mission
Founded in 2007, the City of God Christian Centre has its headquarters at 25 Church Walk, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE6 3DP. Under the leadership of Apostle Bright Onoka, the church has expanded its reach, opening a new centre in Middlesbrough to cater to the spiritual needs of the local community. The Centre is committed to spreading the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and empowering to reach their highest potential in God through the teaching of God’s Word.
Expansion to Middlesbrough
Recognizing the need for a spiritual hub in Middlesbrough, the City of God Christian Centre inaugurated its Middlesbrough branch to serve the local populace. This expansion aligns with the church’s vision to reach more people with the message of hope and salvation. The Middlesbrough centre offers regular services, community outreach programs, and various ministries tailored to different age groups and interests.

Apostle Bright Onoka serves as the Global Lead Pastor, bringing spiritual guidance and vision. The Middlesbrough Church has Dr. Kelechi Anyigor as the Resident Pastor and (Mrs) Angela Anyigor as the Assistant Pastor. The Pastoral team is responsible for ensuring that the church’s activities align with its mission and values, fostering a nurturing environment for all members.
